The new Samsung Star S5233w touchscreen phone is almost the same as its predecessor, the Samsung Star S5233, except that it offers Wi-Fi. 
The phone will be available in Black, Silver, White, and Pink. This phone also comes with a 3-inch 240 x 400 pixels, 262K colors WQVGA touch screen, mobile widgets-enabled Touch Wiz User Interface, 3.2 megapixel camera with a smile detection feature.
Its features also include EDGE/GPRS, Bluetooth with A2DP, USB 2.0, MP3 player with DNSe, support for multi-format playback, accelerometer sensor for auto rotation, handwriting recognition, and FM radio.
The Samsung Star S5233w offers a gesture control feature that allows users to lock or unlock the phone using gestures. It has with 50MB memory and microSD card support, expandable to 8GB.
Inclusion of Wi-Fi will definitely add to the popularity of the Samsung Star S5230 phone, that was launched in May 2009. In August 2009, Samsung had announced that around 5 million units of the Samsung Star S5230 had been sold since the time of its launch.
The Samsung Star S5233w touchscreen phone will be available at a competitive price of Rs 12,000, slightly higher than that of the Samsung Star S5233, that is priced at Rs 11,100.
Samsung expects to hit the 10-million mark by November 2009.
